I was so busy last week that I didn't get a chance to write about things that have happened this year...
As I prepared to go to work last Tuesday, I didn't even notice or hear about the massive earthquake that struck in Port Au Prince, Haiti. It was a 7.0 on the Richter Scale and shook the land, leaving buildings falling like decks of cards. Ambivalence was usually what people reacted with when they learned of tragedy in another part of the world.
This time the world got it right.
In response to the gross negligence of Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami flood, money, medical supplies, and other aid arrived so fast that workers couldn't transport them fast enough, and there were so many planes carrying more that many couldn't land.
I was so happy for this over abundance of support from so many people, so many companies and entertainers.
